DJ EMMA

DJ EMMA

He began DJing in 1985 and saw many successes at nightclub parties throughout Tokyo, culminating in a contract with GOLD in 1994. Acting as resident until they closed GOLD, his aggressive sets drew in the crowds on Saturday nights and made the players on the Tokyo nightlife scene (NIGHTLIST) aware of his powerful presence. He added music production to his skill set in 1995, and then formed MALAWI ROCKS with Kawachi Taro, releasing a 12″ single on NIGHTGROOVE called “Music Is My Flower” which became a worldwide hit. That same year, a mix cd representing Japan’s dance music scene called EMMA HOUSE was released, and the 24-bit mastering and remarkable ability to capture the atmosphere on the dance floor led to excellent sales and the eventual release of 19 CDs. In 2014 NIGHTLIST became active again and released ACID HOUSE CD, “ACID CITY.” He went on a double release tour to mark the release of both Acid City and the HEARTBEAT release of the MIX CD, “MIXED BY DJ EMMA Vol. 2” that took him to 15 venues throughout Japan. His ability to consistently create new HOUSE MUSIC for the dance floor using the latest in music technology earned him the nickname of the KING OF HOUSE. On October 26, 2016, “EMMA HOUSE XX ~ 30th Anniversary” commemorating the 30th anniversary of the EMMA HOUSE series was released by Universal Music. He is currently active as a DJ and producer.
